Chemical Peels

Chemical peels use a solution to exfoliate skin. Discuss uneven tone, texture or other skin concerns in a consultation that considers your skin history and the suitability of a peel.

Choose with your skin history in mind

Discuss pigment changes, scarring, cold sores, medicines and previous procedures. Ask about experience treating your skin tone. Peel depth and ingredients affect suitability; this page does not specify a peel formula or depth offered by the clinic.

Preparation and recovery are part of the decision

A peel may require a preparatory skin-care plan. Redness, scaling and changes in pigmentation can occur; recovery varies with the peel. Ask how the proposed option fits your routine before arranging treatment.

Care for the skin as it heals

Follow the clinician’s cleansing, moisturizing and sun-protection instructions. Do not pick or scratch peeling skin. Ask when to resume active products and makeup, and how to contact the treating team about irritation or unexpected changes.

Treatment questions

Will every peel cause the same amount of peeling?

No. Skin response and recovery depend on the peel and your skin. A single downtime promise would not describe every treatment.

Can a peel be considered for darker skin tones?

An individual assessment matters, including pigment-change risk and the clinician’s experience with your skin tone. Ask about those factors before deciding.

Do I have to select a peel strength in advance?

No. Start with a consultation. The clinician should explain any proposed peel, its limitations and the care it requires.
